Friday Five: Saving #highered from extinction

Baryonyx walkeriIn his recent article Saving Universities from Extinction No Easy Task, David Goldberg, author of the book A Whole New Engineer, offers a strong critique of higher education.

There’s nothing new about that. We’ve been hearing strong critiques for some time now.

But Goldberg’s critique — in the form of five crucial problems facing higher ed — is a wake-up call. And Goldberg — good engineer that he is — doesn’t end with the criticism. He looks for solutions and offers five actions that could save us.

So, today’s Friday Five is not the typical listicle you’ll find in this space. Instead, I’m asking you to read Goldberg’s five crucial problems and five actions, and think about it.

Happy weekend, all.
